Kristen served for three years on the K-12 Steering Committee for the U.S. Partnership for Education for Sustainable Development, a United Nations Compact. In May 2010, she was invited by the United Nations Association to contribute as an ambassador to the Transformative Education Forum at the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.
