David Weinstein is the proud parent of two Cambridge Public Schools students and the proud product of the public schools of Greenburgh, New York. He is serving his second term on the Cambridge School Committee. David began his career in education as a full-time certified classroom teacher in public schools in Massachusetts and New York, teaching both art and English in grades K-12. Prior to being elected to the School Committee, he served as a parent representative on the Graham and Parks School Steering Committee and on CPSD principal and teacher hiring committees. David has more than 20 years of curriculum development, communications, and project management experience in K-12 schools, nonprofits, and higher education. As Assistant Director of ENACT: The Educational Network for Active Civic Transformation he is growing a national, non-partisan program based at Brandeis University’s International Center for Ethics, Justice and Public Life that is teaching college students how to be effective, engaged citizens at the state legislative level. David has a BA in American Studies from Wesleyan University, where he also completed the undergraduate Educational Studies Program; and an EdM from the Harvard Graduate School of Education focused on teaching and learning, educational policy, and teacher leadership.
