PE09 PE Grade 9 Physical Education
Grade 9 Physical Education meets for one semester, alternating with Health Education. Students will learn a combination of fundamental skills and concepts that prepare students to become physically active and promote health awareness. The activities will include traditional and alternative aerobic and anaerobic fitness, swimming, recreational games, lifetime activities, group/trust initiatives and team sports.

PHE1 HE Grade 9 Health Education
This Course meets for one semester, alternating with Grade 9 Physical Education or Dance 1. All students will be given an opportunity to participate in lessons and discussions involving teen health issues, including: relationships and communication, learning and the brain, emotional health, sexual harassment and teen dating violence, nutrition, substance abuse prevention and sexuality education.

PE0021 Young Adult Wellness
This class will learn about issues and decisions that students will face as young adults. Topics will include goal-setting and life planning; communication; sexuality and relationships; decisions about legal, illegal substances and binge drinking; depression and mental health; deciding about parenting and taking care of children; conflict resolution and legal and financial issues facing young adults.

Grades: 10, 11, 12; Length: One Semester; Alternate Days; Credits: 5; Prerequisite: None.

PE 0022 Strength and Conditioning
This class offers students an opportunity to improve their overall fitness and develop plans to attain personal goals. This class involves strength training, speed and agility, flexibility, diet, other topics to improve health and fitness.

Grades: 10, 11, 12; Length: One Semester; Alternate Days; Credits: 5; Prerequisite: None.

PE0023 Team Sports
Students will learn the skills, rules, history and various strategies for basketball, soccer, football, lacrosse, floor hockey, baseball, softball and volleyball.

PE0024 Lifelong Activities
This course will include activities that have tremendous value as lifelong pursuits. Typical activities include table tennis, pickle ball, badminton, tennis, golf, mat ball, whiffleball, speedball, and ultimate frisbee.

PE 0025 Alternative Fitness/Stress Management
This class offers students an opportunity to improve their overall fitness and develop plans to attain personal goals by exploring less traditional physical education activities. Students will learn fitness activities such as yoga, pilates, aerobics, tai chi and strategies to relieve stress through relaxation and meditation.

PE 0026 PE for the Athlete
This class is encouraged for current CRLS athletes. Students will learn time management, the college selection/recruiting process, proper diet, performance enhancing drug use, strength training, injury prevention, and other topics pertinent to being a high school athlete.

PE 0027 Swimming
This course is for students looking to learn new swim strokes, improve their stroke and participate in other water activities and games.

PE 0028 First Aid & CPR
Students will learn how to handle emergency situations and administer CPR and First Aid for adults, children and infants.

PE 0029 Adventure Leadership
This class is designed to promote cooperation, communication, teamwork and problem solving. Students will learn that the success of a group depends on active participation of all its members. Students will participate in problem solving initiatives and how to climb the rope courses.
