The Baldwin School embraces clear core values, inspiring students to develop a growth mindset as lifelong learners. The school helps students be resilient, take responsible risks, value differences, and consider the needs of individuals and the larger community.
Daily class meetings, using the Responsive Classroom approach, encourage students to build relationships and community, learn social skills, and work together to solve problems. Older students lead All School Meetings, where core values are celebrated and students share what they have learned.
Baldwin has high academic expectations for students and uses frequent assessment to provide instruction and support to meet the wide range of needs. At Baldwin, learning is enriched with real-world experiences and applications. Special activities and field trips help the curriculum come to life. Student-led and student-driven ideas are encouraged and supported.
Trips are designed to get students outside to explore and learn about the world throughout the day and school year. Past trips have included overnight trips for our oldest students, walking trips around Cambridge, and local museums.
