On November 4th, the King Arthur Flour Co. came to the King School to demonstrate the process of bread making for our 4th and 5th grade students. The presentation included math, science and ELA concepts. Narsra Samater and Isabella King were our class volunteers. They assisted presenter, Amy Driscoll in preparing the dough and helped to make cinnamon buns, braided bread and pizza. All students where sent home with a baking kit. Each kit included enough supplies to make two loaves of bread. One loaf to keep at home and the other was donated to the food pantry at Cambridge Economic Opportunity Committee (CEOC). Between the two grades, we were able to donate over 20 loaves of homemade bread! A special thank you to Jade Buckwalter and Shinyoung Yi who helped deliver the bread to the grateful directors at the food pantry.
