Welcome Back from Gerald Yung: August 2018

Welcome Back from Gerald Yung: August 2018
Posted on 08/24/2018
Dear King Community,

I hope you’re having a great summer! We are continuing with our preparations for a great year ahead of us. The first day of school for students in first grade to fifth grade is Tuesday, September 4th. The first day for students in Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten is Thursday, September 6th.

The request for classroom materials at our school is relatively limited. Please do not feel the need to rush out and buy supplies. Your classroom teacher will be the point person, which will depend on grade level.

As you enjoy the remaining days of summer, please know that our school’s mission includes education and character building. We believe that teamwork, kindness, and empathy are all necessary components of a good school experience. The more love and care we show for each other, the happier we will all be!

Yours truly,

Gerald Yung, Principal

Did you know?
Attendance was a focal point in our communication to families. Last year, our daily attendance rate was tops in the district. Congratulations and keep up the good work of being here every day and on-time!

Our school building was recognized over the summer as achieving a LEED Platinum rating, the highest attainable rating of its kind. Our school is the first Cambridge municipal building to achieve this rating as we feature geothermal wells, extensive solar panels, storm water reclamation, and shading/light devices.
