The topic at the January School Council meeting was Responsive Classroom. Responsive Classroom is often referred to as a social curriculum. However, it is more of philosophy or an approach to teaching then it is a curriculum or a prescribed way of dealing with situations that may come up in the classroom. Responsive Classroom is widely used throughout the district. We where pleased to welcome Kim DeAndrade, Program Leader, Health Ed /Social Emotional Learning, CPS and two King teacher Liz Hill, JK/K and Erin Dickerson, grade 2 to present on how Responsive Classroom works day to day in the classrooms.
