Fourth and fifth graders who chose to take part in the MCBA (Massachusetts Children's Book Award) lunch time book group in the library were treated today to a Skype visit with the author, Natalie Dias Lorenzi. Lorenzi's book
Flying the Dragon is the story of cousins Hiroshi and Skye Tsuki who are brought together under unfortunate circumstances. Their cross-cultural relationship deepens as they work together to participate in a rokkaku kite battle.
The students asked great questions and were treated to a Japanese mochi (red bean rice cake) at the end of the visit. Ms. Lorenzi was also very kind to send each student an autographed book mark which will be distributed to students at an upcoming book group meeting.
