Read Across AmericaOn March 2, Dr. Seuss’s birthday, the King School kicked off our annual Read Across America event. Every page that students read during the month of March counts as one mile. Our goal as a school is to read our way from Earth to the moon, about 238,000 miles or pages! Students can read independently or be read to by a parent or caregiver. Look out for a reading log that will be sent home soon to keep track of all the reading. The log will also be available to print out  starting in March. In April, we will have a school-wide assembly to celebrate our Read Across America reading accomplishments. So let’s get reading and keep sending those reading logs in!

As part of our March Read Across America activities, we are inviting interested parents to come read to a class. Please email Ellen Chu if you would like to schedule a class visit. Please include your name, your child’s name, and the classroom that you would like to read to. Guest readers in English or Mandarin are all welcome.
