Physical Education

BallsThe mission of physical education at the Dr. Martin Luther King School is to use physical activity to teach students the physical,cognitive, and social skills necessary to develop and sustain a healthy lifestyle. This mission is achieved through the delivery of a planned, sequential curriculum that draws its content and program goals from the MADOE&SE comprehensive health frameworks and the NASPE standards. The physical program provides the opportunity for children:

  • To enhance self-esteem and body image
  • To maintain a healthy body
  • To develop the spirit of cooperation and collaboration
